Every year, AAHPA members come together for our annual conference. Anyone who has been to a conference will attest - it's good people, talking about important and good work. You will learn more than enough to cover the cost of attending through increased savings, efficiency, professional networks and grant opportunities throughout the rest of the year.
Our corporate members rotate the responsibility for hosting the conference. Members can login to see past conference presentations, and all AAHPA awards are available to peruse at any time.
AAHPA will be hosting a winter administrative conference for the first time in 2020. It will be held in Anchorage, Feb. 12-13. You can find more information here.
41st Annual AAHPA Fall Conference
2020 Dates TBD
The AAHPA will be accepting nominations during the summer of 2020 for the 2020 Harbormaster (or Port Director) of the Year award.
We truly hope that you'll take a few minutes to consider your Harbormasters and Port Directors. If you believe they fit the criteria, nominating them for this award is easy! We request a simple letter, outlining their qualifications and reasons for your nomination.
Nominations are due by September 10, 2019 to be reviewed by our Board of Directors and will be kept confidential. You can send a nomination using this form, or email our Secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also ask our ports and harbors to select deserving Employees of the Year nominees. To be included in the ceremony, please send an email to email@example.com with the name, position, and noteworthy achievements of that employee! Nominations will be due several weeks prior to the fall conference.
Successful ports and harbors have strong operations and administrative systems in place. AAHPA exists to serve and promote Alaska's port and harbor infrastructure, and have successfully expanded our networking to include more administrative support!
We will be holding a two-day administrative conference in Anchorage during the winter of 2020. Please stay tuned for more information, and email Rachel (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions or suggestions!
